Hi Jenn,

7d - 5 letter "go" as a verb + 1 letter "Stevenson's first" - definition is "rocket say" (think 'food')

24a - hidden - he's a hairy guy mentioned in the Bible.

Hence "In James" (The King James version of the Bible - although he's mentioned in Genesis 25 so will be in all editions of it)

Found this difficult but interesting! Managed to finish thanks to help from the forum. Off to Australia today for my annual visit to my son, as one of the few who still get the paper I will have to go online! Thanks again for hints and happy retirement Hugh.

Thanks, brendan. Well, I don't have a bible, nor know it well at all so I'll dig around for mentions of hair - although the answer is clear enough.

As for 7D - I can see what it probably is, but still don't see the connection with 'rocket'. Maybe it's a UK thing?

Well, no worries, 225 will explain, I hope, next week. Somewhat disappointed to be stuck with just one left. Oh well.

jenna, 7d involves a usage I only discovered through crosswords. The term does not seem common in USA.

Hi chrise. I've really enjoyed this puzzle and have all but finished it, with a lot of help from all of you.
4dn and 22ac are surely a funny pair? :-)

The one I haven't managed yet is 2dn, which you say is not a word. Can anyone offer a hint?
