19a is all in reverse, first letter removed, two letter word at the end
18d has a three letter acronym inside a cricketing term and a single letter

Thanks jono. I was looking for one word. I don't think the clue is emtirely fair - the second word is far from obvious.

Well, this one proved a real challenge for me. FOI 13 and then like others 24 and 20 got me moving forward. I struggled with the themed clues and the circular references until I hit upon 26. Slow progress after that with a couple of the 'loose homophones' holding me up.
Surprise, surprise I like Ianwil and Rocky7 initially went off track with 3.
I also spent too long parsing 18 despite being familiar with the sporting reference. I came here with a completed grid but one or two entries that I still couldn't fully parse.
Thanks to all the previous posters, your hints and comments have helped put my mind at rest.

Took me ages to get going properly with this one. Oddly enough my FOI was 29, entirely due to that saying being something my old wag of a dad announces whenever he comes across them (often whilst tossing one in my direction!). Made me smile.

Unless it's just 2 different "10" names using the same letters, in which case it seems a bit weak 🤔

17, 27 is an expression that holds the theme together

Thanks ChrisE. Like you, I find Paul's puzzles a bit contrived

HI everyone

Just spent an hour reading all the clues and got zero!

The trouble is I'd rather be in the garden putting some plants in. So, that's what I'm going to do and then look again. I hate all this cross referencing.

I may be back or I may just give up this week.
