OK had the wrong rain ending. Not sure I concur with Paul on that part of the clue. Bad clueing imo.

No I take that back. I have fully parsed the clue now. Apologies to Paul.

For 3d 10a I put in a singer/tv personality which got me into a lorra lorra trouble - I see the right answers now!

I was going down that route too Ian before I saw the link with 17a.

All done. Quite a challenge and I'm up for that on a Saturday.

FOI was Brendan's hint 24a closely followed by 25d which then helps to get one word of the theme.

LOI 18d which despite being much discussed here, took me a long time to parse. COD 11a.

Not sure 7d is actually a thing. I'm more familiar with a different second word.

I've had another look and now have parsed 26a and 8a, though not impressed by either.

I still have no idea of the parsing for 16a, and I'm suspecting that my answer isn't tight.

My parsing of 16a is two words (3,4) meaning “something that’s enjoyable” with the outside letters removed.

Not the easiest but got the cross referenced clues fairly quickly.
FOI 24a
LOI 12a (doh)
COD 29a made us laugh
Could do with some help parsing 19a and 18d

18d look for a cricketing term with an acronym for alias inside and one letter fame ultimately at the end.
