Snowwhite

Insert a d for daughter into the solution somewhere. What do you get? It's actually very clever.

It's a lovely day in Exeter in contrast to the deluge we had on Tuesday. I've never seen rain like it!

But I'm really struggling with this. I've only got a few, though those do include 23d, which I rather liked. I haven't decoded any of the double definitions including 8ac, so I don't think I'll get much further without them. Just spotted the gold in 25ac

Perhaps a hint from 8ac will get me going. Or, what about 16ac. I have ??O??. What about 1d?

I haven't found the hiddens yet, so I'll go away and search for them. Though I may have just got 1d!

Just got 9ac followed by 8ac. Perhaps I'll make some progress now.

Glorious in Teignmouth too Roof. Persevere. Trust me it's worth it. It took me ages to get going but once you're in it flows. Some great clues too.

Thanks Rocky

I have been persisting and it is thanks to you and Chris that I got the first long one when you gave me some letters for 20across. The 3d long one took me longer and was an inspiration, though I can't see why the first word.

I now have four left and several for which I'm not at all sure of the parsing.

I haven't got 12ac and 12d, 14d and 17ac. I've filled in an answer for 20d, but cannot see the parsing. Similarly, for 16d and 18ac. I get the ending for 18ac, but can't explain four of the remaining letters, but at least I'm happy with the definition.

I can't see the parsing for 16d at all despite all the hints on the thread. I have M?G?N?I? Are my crossers right.

Brendan, I've only found one hidden in the downs, none in the acrosses.

Hi Roof
12a is your hidden across (backwards)
16d your N is wrong
14d is a bit feeble. Think chess
17a is also a loose double definition
18a discussed earlier
You'll probably see 12d when you have 12a

Paul is one of my least favourite setters.
