Yes, I agree, 8A was a good one.

Thanks for help so far, I'm good except for 19A which seems to be either of two words (second later 'I' is preferred for definition being 'title') but I cannot see why.

19 has been discussed several times above.
It's a homophone of a 2-word phrase: "failed to notice" + "a"

I had the same question, took a while to parse.

Thanks, geeker. 'Lector' to indicate a homonym is not one I've seen before so was hopelessly sidetracked.
