Please can anyone provide a gentle hint for the following?

1a Dick garnish? Cyclops had one (8). I have ???S???A
2d Bit of a joke model pursuing Robin (7). I have ??L?A?T
4d Suffer: "No space for hot dog!" (5). I have ??C?R

I think 2d might start with R, but if so, can't see all of the parsing. Ditto 4d might start with I but again can only make out part of it parsing-wise.

Any gentle hints greatly appreciated!

Steve

I don’t have the puzzle, but assuming Cyclops is the setter and that part of the clue is a self reference, then the first one is a living person I think.
You asked for gentle hints so I’ll say no more.

6a. President almost gets disheartened Trumpists personal clean-up aids (6)

S _ D _ T _

Can only think of one answer, but no idea how that parses. Can anyone help?

S is wrong.
6d is a person's name.
The president in 6a is the U.S. current one's name (almost)+ Trumpists minus the middle letters.
