I can't for the life of me parse 10ac

10a parses as three letters for a Greek character then four letters an old spelling of a type of poem, all reversed (about)

I’ll ask if Nora could kindly retitle this thread as Everyman 3946 so we don’t get confused ;-)

Good day all. Raced along. Especially the long anagrams. But now stuck. 7d would help me enormously with it and 9a, 11a and 25a.

7d is an anagram of two words from the clue after the usual two letter self-reference for ‘Everyman’. If you have 8d you’ll notice something in common when it comes to the first two words of both answers.

Thanks jono. Actually just got it after one of those walk away, do something else, and return moments.

Just 4d to go. Apart from my own struggle I suggest on the easier end of the Everyman spectrum today. COD for me is 11a but no great gems in my view.

Quite tricky I thought - no rhyming or alliterative pairs as far as I can see, and I liked the "& lit" nature of the initials clue. LOI 4d which has never been on my radar but eventually worked it out from the wordplay and confirmed by Google. A decent workout for a slightly hung-over Sunday morning all in all.
