Like Chris, I hated the first …and hockey!

Oh wow! What a brilliant crossword. I found it very difficult, but fair, and ultimately very rewarding. The theme eluded me for a long time, but it’s so clever!
FOI 10a, LOI 7d - I’d transposed the first two letters of the second word in 14a (which still gave a solution that made sense). Far too many candidates for COD, I like pretty much all the themed clues, of the others I particularly liked 29a.
Can anyone tell me how 15d fits into the theme? I’m also struggling to parse 23d, but I’m sure of my answer. And does the third last letter in 18d come from the first word in the clue?

15 is one of 2 thematics that use two numbers. Clever device: ignore the thematic indicator ellipsis "..." and read the (whole) clue paying attention to the solidus "/". The answer will then be apparent, but it took me an awfully long time to figure it out!

Ok this was hard but I got the theme eventually and haven't needed any help from this site.

I don't understand 15D clue at all though but I have the correct answer I'm 100% sure on that.

Yeah I googled 15D day and it made sense.

Davel - hi - yes, your assumption is correct. The symbol originates from the French phrase intensity du courant.

Re: [clue number]/08 - using the same device as the Noel clue, this gives a particular point in time with a specific (religious) association.
