Incidentally, in the Radio3 Composer of the week a few weeks ago on the Harlem Jazz boom, LOUIS was (almost) always pronunced "Lewis". I always though he was "Lewey"!

cheers @malone and @chrise.

'Louis' seems a bit of a cop-out as the definition word!
I always thought the guy's name was pronounced "Lewey" too!

Thanks, Whetstone, glad we could help. A quick look online showed me that the guy's mother pronounced it Lewis and he said that was the version he preferred.

17 the tree is UPAS, I think
so it's A UPAS inside MS (writing), and A NT (New Testament - set of books)

12 no idea!

22 LUM is a dialect word for a chimney, and OC can be read as "zero centigrade, i.e. cold! A LOCUM fills in for someone's job

Olympian = Greek. The Greek letter i is called IOTA. I don't see where the race fits in, though
