22,
I am wondering if there is something missing from the clue?
AGATHA.
A is in the clue.
A delightful person could be a "gas"?
With anagram of "hat".
But, nothing indicating how to get rid of the "s" in "gas"?
A GA(S) THA ????

Well deduced Rusty, with a bit searching I found the original clue (from the Telegraph 25,890) was…

Woman, a delightful person largely with funny hat

Ah! Well done, Jono!
A good bit of sleuthing there!
That clue was niggling away at me and as there are some excellent solvers on the forum who did not respond to it, I thought there may be an error or somesuch in the clue.

I think 1d is just a cryptic definition. The Luxembourg Gardens are in a Paris.

Re 22.... Must be a typo in my print because 'largely' is missing.
