I enjoyed your postings. The sign in the toilets at the local supermarket has been altered by a pedantic wag to read "These toilets are cleaned on a regular basin". I can picture that!

I liked your mother’s coffee coffee. I was paying for petrol yesterday and I noticed a new coffee machine. There were some exotic variations along the lines you have mentioned, but I was intrigued by “latte with an influence of toblerone”. Can a piece of chocolate influence anything? I asked about the flavour, but the helpful assistant said, ”They all taste the same to me.” I am off to the market café now, but will avoid coffee.

Cricket fixtures out today - we play Worcester in July (Mon 10th - Thurs 13th) Have just booked for 3 nights at the Premier Inn, next to ground - barring plague, rail strikes or World War 3 breaking out I`m finally going to New Road!

I have had so many problems with multi-item and all-day breakfasts at the market café that today I reverted to my healthy choice of poached eggs on toast.
“You can have only one egg”, said Cassie, “they are being rationed by our supplier, though I don’t know why.”
“Of course, the birds have flu”, I replied.
“You mean the birds have FLOWN”, she insisted, “I had to correct your Italian last week, and now it’s your English. Anyway, you can have tomatoes or mushrooms on the second piece of toast.”
“I would prefer cheese”, I said.
“No, that’s not possible. That would be two different meals on the same plate and that’s not allowed.”
I settled for one egg on toast, but I left the café rather hungry.

That's great news. A championship match in summer is a rarity nowadays. It is a popular place to stay, have you got a room overlooking the ground?

Jigjag. Love your cafe/coffee experiences!
Ask the lovely Cassie ( although we’re beginning to think she must be the twin of the lovely Samantha in “ sorry, I haven’t a clue”) if she serves Camp coffee, with the chicory essence?

The booking never mentioned `view of the ground` - I`ll probably have a panoramic view of the car park/recycling area!

Jigjag, it's great to get your breakfast serials...! I do enjoy hearing about the cafe, Cassie, the difficulties you encounter, your resolution of any difficulties and so on. I am not surprised that you left hungry, one egg on toast is rather a modest breakfast, especially for someone who occasionally treated themselves to the 'seven items' blow-out.

Glad you liked the stories. I haven't heard of Camp coffee since my childhood, when it was advertised on TV. I didn't know about the chicory essence. I never had a coffee, camp or otherwise, until I went to university.
I am afraid I have never listened to the programme - I have clearly never lived. On looking it up, I see that Samantha is a fictional character, but after listening to a few clips, she seems very real to me. She may be related to Cassie and I will ask next time I visit the cafe. I will order a Camp coffee and see what happens.
