Thanks all for helping me understand 9/11 (never been a golfer). I also had not seen the possibility of a Y at the end of 22, which does make it make somes ense at least (still don't much like it though).
I had kind-of got the other doubles already, enough to be happy with them; but I still have an issue with the verb that's meant to be pink in 12a.

p.s. first clue in, and favourite: 16a.
Quite partial to a drop of that now and then too.

I managed to fill a lot in whilst watching Valhalla. But I think I must have got 10,4 wrong as I can't get 5d. I'm really not sure about 9,11. I haven't got 1ac and 2d yet, but may have to give up for bed.

Are my crossers right for 10,4? H?L?C?P?E?R T?E?T

The letter count for 10,4 is (10,6)
Your letters for the first word are correct but R and first T for the second are wrong.

1a is a double definition. Think of sore as grieved.

Thanks for all the helpful comments, I only got one (1a) on my first read through, but have now finished, and only cheated (used Danword to look up the answer) once - for 10/4a

I'm a day late - foyr through half yesterday then abandoned in the hope I'd see more clearly today. Now only a few to finish and I haven't been able to work then out from the forum so far : 2d (beg with t?), 9/11 (I should Google, know nothing about golf) and really annoyingly 16d which no one else has mentioned, and I have all the crossers. Just can't see a word and holding off from onelook because I'm sure I should be able to get it! And late help appreciated!

Hi Lucy,

2d - Yes, it begins with T - If you say "quickly" what you do when you "take down" (food) it sounds like/"read out" a type of "message".

16d - 3 letter word for "jerk" as in 'nudge' + 4 letter word for "wrong" reversed/"upped" - definition is "pace".

9/11a - 3 letter word for "staff" + I from the clue reversed/"put back" inside a "absurdly long" score on a (golf) "hole" - definition is "Weasel's relative".
