Brendan @3
Yes, 9,11 was FOI and brought a smile. (I think there's a 7 somewhere in Japan.)
I'm struggling with 24,1 - I suspect it's a phrase I'm not familiar with. I haven't read all the posts yet though.

Morning all,
Thought that was fairly tricky in places. There are still a couple I’ve not parsed, but as no one else has asked about them if I take a break I’m sure they will dawn on me.
I thought the three mentions of pink might turn into a theme but I guess not.
And not sure about the use of “fancifully” in 23d, will need to think about it...

OK, finished, though I haven't parsed the last 8 letters of 24,1. I hadn't heard of 10,4 either. 9,11 remained favourite, though there were other neat clues too - 19d very good.

24,1 - the oil platform is three letters inside a word for demanded. Power is the second word in 24a.
I can’t see 6d for some reason

Morning all,
Just taking another look at this whilst my brownies are in the oven.

FOI was 1a, not sure why I started at the start today. I think it stood out to me as such a concise clue, which are often my favourite. In fact 1a, 20d and 27a reminded me of Rufus and his use of concise dds.

Not having 24a/1d or 9a/11a is holding me back from finishing and there are a couple I can't parse. Not entirely happy with 23d's parsing either.

Nice to see some "Pauline" style clues again, and I think 22a should end in a Y Brendan as an adjective.

Will be back later for some hints if I'm still struggling. :-)

Aha, just got 24a/1d - not an expression familiar to me.

Also forgot to add that the top line, 1a, 4a stood out to me, lots of those around after the Welsh Government's and local council's last minute decisions regarding schools closing for Christmas!!

Ah, I had the oil source in the wrong place.
6 is an anagram

Brendan - I have the same beardscratcher with 22a - it's not in my Chambers 2003, but it makes sense.
Thanks to everyone else. I'd filled the grid pretty rapidly, but was unparsed in a couple of places - notably 2d (Obvious now...), and I think I should stand in the corner for 10 minutes regarding the second word in 24a...
