To my astonishment I completed this puzzle quickly except for the pesky little 6a. i have the second and fourth letters but even after looking at the list provided by Quick Solve on this site I am still scratching my head. HELP! (Unintentionally a reference to 26a).

Morning all. Enjoyable this week. Struggled with a few. I like 6A.

FOI was 1A which I expect is true for many. LOi was 1D.

COD is 7D which reminds me of geography lessons from several decades ago. Also enjoyed 3D and 8D.

Oops. Just had to revert and correct 19A and 19D which I had wrong - shows (!) the value of this forum.

So thanks femmenoire for the breadmaking tip.

We have FemmeNoire to thank for the parsing of 19d - the answer was obvious from the crossers because only a handful of clues have that letter pattern and only one of them means "demonstrating" but I was at a complete loss as to the wordplay.

3d and 8d were good, i agree and it's nice to see more of these 'charade' type clues appearing in the Everyman:-)

I think I said last weeks was an improvement on previous weeks and this week I thought continues that trend. Good mix of clues types, misdirection and surfaces, also as commented already some very ‘current’ words I was surprised to find in Chambers. I note today’s 225 blogger also sees a change in style (for the better) in recent weeks.

Finished! Like Brendan, FOI was 1a followed by 1d.
Got stuck in the SE corner towards the end - LOI was 26a as the "arranger" bit confused me.
For me, COD was 12d which made me laugh.
Most enjoyable :-)

I have a feeling 26a has a typo and it should say "arranged" but you never know:-)

Arranger is a three letter abbreviation. It’s in Chambers. Out is the anagrind
