Hi Brendan
Just to complete your query on 4a. If you take the last 3 letters as a word and follow it with ‘...is just a number’ you have a phrase sometimes use to console people like me.

Morning all,
Not had enough time to finish this as yet - too busy getting over-excited kids dressed up and now I need to go buy sweets as obviously left it to the last minute! But as a former cosmologist I am loving the theme. FOI was 10a, yet to pick a favourite. Not quite figured out the parsing of 1d, if anyone can help me with that. Thank you!

Hi AbiCoop
The word sounds like something of which ‘male’ is an example.

Hi Brendan! Stumped with 13D - 2 letters for "assuming"?

Hi Myla
Try replacing ‘assuming’ in the phrase ‘assuming you did that, this will happen’. Then reverse and insert.

I only got 13d once I realised it could end in an 'a' rather than an 'o' (hope that's not giving too much away). All done now except 21d and yes I have 11 22a's, most familiar to me. Think my COD is 25a, nice surface of which I am all too aware with a sister living in Leeds!

21d: the first word of the clue and the solution are both mild slang words for the same thing. As to the second part of the clue, think of a supermarket staple.

Hi Rogissimo! Got it thanks. Didn't occur to me that it was a female.
