Hi again Ethereal,

the single letter for "current" is the electrical symbol and is in Chambers - it's worth noting because it crops up very frequently.

Hi Brendan, the particular meaning of 4a. was new to me. The wordplay is a word for some jazz reversed, plus part of a saying "??? is just a number". You'll see a 3 letter 'group' within the word.

Hi Mattrom,

Thanks for that, I could see the "jazzy piece" reversed and had the last three letters but just couldn't equate it with "just a number" - still can't see the 22a in it though - and for once I have exhaustively looked in Chambers 😡

I see it's not in Chambers or Bradfords, but comes up in Google.

Yes, 4a also contains a group of 22a. It is an obscure one even for an amateur astronomer like me. I realized the theme only after getting 22a.

Hi Mathi,

The most surprising one to me is the group in 11a - I wonder it got that name?

11a: I looked up wiki about how it got the name (meaning ‘standard’ or right angle). It is also not well-known among astronomers.

Over quite quickly. My favourite thematic was 6a.

I can't see the theme in 4a or 11a either, but I've got a busy morning cooking, so I'll leave research 'til later.

You’ve all done better than me, I only found 8 themed references on first look, I’ll need to do some looking up of the remainder. I assume there are 11.
‘Last couples in’ is a nifty device, I liked that. I also failed to parse the ‘it’s just a number’ reference, but it’s clear now, and how true!
