I meant to say that the musical family were makers rather than performers.

Erk! I'd written the second part of 11a in incorrectly. Once corrected, your nudges got me over the line. Thanks, Chris.

The list of biscuit brands given in the Chambers Thesaurus was very useful to me, especially for clues 7d, 9a and 12a!

Phew! That was tough going, I'd never heard of 6d but guessed it from the wordplay and needed Google to confirm it was a thing!

LOI 7d, I have a word that fits that meets what I assume is the definition, but can't relate it to biscuits on any way! Can anyone please put me out of my misery without giving away any spoilers?

HaHa so Paul does themes after all. Tough going but a jolly romp after a slowish start. I was all for going out to buy some strawberry hobnobs until I saw the conceit - so COD for me with the clever football surface.

Ahah! Thanks Jono, I feel like quite a chump now especially as they are a favorite of mine, much to the chagrin of the rest of the family who can't stand them!

9a) I know the solution, but can't parse the theme word it comes from.
21a) I think the solution is not a theme word. I have a flyer. Where does strawberry fit into all this?
26a) This must relate to a famous court case?

Cantona’s strawberry is the word in Eric’s home country. Stick a bird in there and Bob’s your Auntie’s live-in lover 🙂
