Think of a US politician who once ran for President. Parsing seems fairly clear.

25ac is themed (3rd to 5th letters, within a scientific term for cheek). Defn is hell (biblical term).

‘Lines that are baited for catching’ is the definition. Not a word I’ve come across before. The 2nd to 6th letters are a themed word.

Busy day agin today - out walking so didn't start until 5.00pm, then fell asleep. I haven't got the theme yet, but will work away at it, but must watch the Bridge now - so I think tomorrow might be when I make the effort. Thanks for hints so far.

The City where I live is in one of the clues!!!! I live on the outskirts, but I don't think that is what the clue means.

You are all braver than me - I read the instructions and thought "no thank you!". I do have a history of not enjoying Maskarade puzzles, though.
