Took me a long time to get into this. Not sure I’m in tune with Philistine’s style. I still don’t fully understand how 4a works and I don’t see the definition in 18a. I can only assume 14a is meant to be a double definition is you split the word, but it’s a bit weak if that’s the case.

Interesting that 4a sort of works reading backwards, but I don't actually believe that is how the parsing works.

I enjoyed this one.
18a had to be my COD. There was a real light bulb moment.
14a did not seem very cryptic to me, assuming I have the right answer!

4a: I think the clue means that the first three letters are ‘in’ the last three letters.
