dylan, in 15a A - in the sense of per - is 2 words (3, 4)

Having spent many hours laboriously solving, I have a completed grid, a full set of selfie features and all the instructions... and absolutely not a clue what I'm supposed to do next.

Either I've made an error somewhere along the way, or I'm being dense, or there are leaps of logic required that I've been unable to think up. Personally I prefer an endgame that is clear from the instructions, but from other reviews it sounds like this one might be worth the struggle.

I’m still slowly nibbling away. I think I have the first two words of the instruction. Hints to the third word, and also 18ac, 36ac might push me a bit further!

Dylan, in 18 last word is def, think French first person to begin with; in 36A look at 'gun' in Chambers as verb. I'm still stuck on 1A and 36D.

I was thinking the message began 7,3, but that theory has been scuppered. I'm now wondering 7,1,4 - does this sound right?

I'd echo Unclued- this is a very difficult puzzle, my SW corner is still almost blank.

6 EX(tra) + word for time in music + common abbrev for about. There's a letter omitted in the entry

8 Def fish; what chocolate does when it "runs" in the heat after S(econd). There's a letter added to the entry

10 is one of those pesky composite anagrams. Gauging is the extra word and Doctor is the anagram indicator. This one also has a letter added

Ignore my last sentence, it's rubbish. There's a letter removed from the entry for 10
