Thought this was very good indeed. Very neat. Loose ends for me are the parsings for 33a (entered elsewhere) and 27d.

27d A 6 letter word for memorial minus two Rs.
I also cannot parse 33a or 19a.

Thanks. 19a letters 1,4,5,6 are a French cop.

For 33, check Chambers for 5 letter word, starting with first 4 letters of the answer, reversed

33a. Def. is 'green parrot'
5-letter word for a rain tree, minus last letter and reversed + a word for 'forth'

Thanks Mattrom - I have a full grid from clues but have no idea how to use the 'clue' to find the missing letters in the 5 unclued entries - hint please?

Ahhh - just using letters to make words from the undefined clues I think I have the person - still don't know why they relate to the 'clue'!

Fresh mind this morning - now got source - had three wrong missing words which made things difficult!! Found the four words too - still not sure what the Tringa's statement is supposed to be?

First time doing the Listener for ages - I'd forgotten how tricky the clues can be.
Finally finished this puzzle but, echoing previous comments in the forum, the signifance of the 5 unnumbered clues remains unclear. And solvers do like loose ends tied up....
