Well I enjoyed this puzzle because it had some easy clues to get me started and most of the others I could work out. Good to have it out of the way so I can get on with the rest of the morning.

Blimey -- surfeit of anagrams this week, and agree with most of the comments about 17A -- even DVD's pronunciation would be closer than that! Also Cerasus and Elle, not sure we can let the setter get away with 3D -- syntactically it's quite a stretch to make 'offence' refer to the whole solution rather than just the first part.

Sorry, Phil, but you've lost me...!
"Offence " is simply part of "troll" = cause online offence ".....
The definition is "one of a crew"
I can parse the whole clue for you ,if you wish?

@phil
re 3d I think the setter not only constructed the clue perfectly, but also indicated with .'causing offence' (which it did on this thread) and 'vacuous platform ( also being the aisle in which the person walked apart from when passengers needed the loo) which gave me the impression that the clue was partly &lit. I have a friend who was one of those ladies that served with one of the top class airlines (now sadly gone ) and whose husband, a test pilot, died this July past. She would not like the description. However, parsing perfect .
