I have now parsed 12d. Katarina Witt was an East German citizen!

Hi casanova,
32a nut = en (printing), regularly implying at intervals rather than as one word within May (our ex Prime Minister (remember puzzles are submitted well in advance if being published)).
12d. Ossi, a term used for one from East Germany (DDR) before Germany "departitioned" within GP (bones, a doctor).
Re the 3 pertinent answers, please see my post # 27.

thanks ginge
Your help appreciated as ever. In my view a poor set of clues: 'picked up' for 'sounds like'? Ah me - on to the next one!

Thank you Ginge. I had thought of May, but the definition didn’t seem to concur with that given in the answer. As was mentioned earlier in the posts the clues seemed a little vague to me
