Aslac, I think it's a 'sounds like' clue - your original letters give most of a girl's name . Just another word for ''scorer' - as in a game, not composing!

I’m guessing that’s Netta becoming Nesta. Thanks Malone
Pleased to have finished both the inquisitor and the cryptic on the same day . Been a while since I managed that.

I can’t see the two groups! Have one pop group, is the second related or completely different please. There is a related ‘group’ but it has about 25 letters and I don’t think that is it?

One group, indicated by the first set of spelling, has a short name. The person, indicated by the second spelling, has a longish name. The second group has two words, is longer than the first - the connection is just that they all come from the same place. The second group wasn't as immediately obvious, I had to do some of the changes (of letters) to see it.

Thanks malone, I cracked it a while ago.
Did you spot both convict and screw in there, red herrings I thought!
Funnily enough, I was thinking of Slade prison last week too.

Glad you cracked it, Lumen. I'd missed your earlier post - Sundays are busy on the Forum!

I always thought that group were from Oxfordshire, where they are very much connected with these days. Never knew of London connection.
