I'm finding parsing quite problematic on some answers in this puzzle.

PRO A makes sense for 35

ARETA must surely be 18

I wondered if 35 could be SLOVEN but you'ld need a hammer and anvil to parse it!

i think 28d is slowed. It is slang for drunk. Slo(g) is tramp followed by wed.

I stand corrected Jadzia! I'd never heard that idiom.

Nor do I blignop, but at A_ETA I'm not sure else where to go!

Jadzia, thanks for the slang, 'slowed'. I can't find it in any of my dictionaries - is that just because it's too new?

Hi malone, like you I checked a few online "tomes" with it (it really only could be slowed with the crossers) not being in Chambers and I did find it in the Urban Dictionary though most slang terms for drunkenness I'm usually more than familiar with !

Areta: I took as (at (for) + era (important date)) reversed. My justification being at/for the moment.
