Wow!! That was difficult, at least for me.

However, I'm aware that last time I had this much trouble, it transpired I was in a minority of one. I'll venture that in this instance though, I'm not the only one who struggled - but we will see....

Erm, I found it quite easy, Brendan, but anagrams always help :-) An excellent Everyman crossword.

Sorry, Brendan, I'm with Scorpiojo! It didn't take too long and I quite enjoyed it - but I'm tiring of the slight gimmick, grid feature.

A good mix but a couple needed head-scratching. 15a is my LOI and I feel an anagram just isn't working ....

I'm with Brendan! Can anyone provide a full parse for 1A? I've got the answer (I think!) but the setter's definition seems tenuous, at best, and I've absolutely no idea how three of the letters are provided by the clue!

I think three letters are provided by a de-tailed 5 letter form of transport, Phil.

Thanks Jo. Makes sense, albeit pretty tortuous. Also seems to mean 'electric' is completely superfluous, unless I'm missing something else (which is more than likely this week!).
