Actually, if Jack A is correct, then the first letter of 33a is a changer for 33a but not for 26d, so JudyGS is correct that the first letter of 26a is the changer for that clue.
I'm still stumbling in the dark for 1a, 10a, 11a, 34a, 2d and 9d. Any hints welcomed.

Thank you, barretter, but I'm too tired to interpret. However, I can supply a few definition words: 1a guy 10a cool 11a book - that's probably enough.

likewise defs - 2d last five words; 9d succession; 34 threaten ... this was a tough one - most of the clues gettable but working out the grid a pain ....

Just got 34a For some reason I was thinking the abbreviation for "area" was "ar" rather than just "a".

I can see two possible combinations of answers to 6a/8d. Wonder if there are others?

I think there is only one possible answer for 8 - and then you need to make a change separate to the 6a change (which I think must be at the end, in order to get two real words).

I wondered if K**** is allowed for 8d?
