Takers of lithium...from batteries? (11)

As a misguided person with faulty hearing (eventually deaf) might say "I'll take heavy metal." Lithium is a heavy metal used in batteries, also in the ttreatment of depression. It occurs naturally in the water supply of some southwestern US municipalities, notably El Paso, Texas, whose residents are said to be statically happier than people elsewhere (I've seen quite a few big smiley faces there). I sometimes wonder if it's added to the water in Los Angeles. :) Batteries has a double meaning, of course.

My phone changed statistically to statically. That may be more appropriate.

Love them all so far, I deliberately made the answer plural as I thought it would help and you haven't disappointed.

@ aristo: perhaps they got the lithium dosage "wrong" rather than your phone ! Do I hear banjoes ?

Ok folks, time's up. I make it there are 25 clues from 12 setters.
I expected some of the all-time great bands (which I've been lucky enough to have seen most at least once) to feature but mattrom's Lamb of God is new to me; having googled, I see they were Burn the Priest when first formed. I assume there was a change in musical direction!
Hopefully back soon with the result.
