I asked a Glassgow friend of mine yesterday about the Scottish word for at one's home.
He told me IN.
I am going to let him know he does not know enough Scottish. LOL.

I have PRESS for 19d but no idea where it comes from?
Even though I have a full grid , i don't really have the theme so can't see what needs to be highlighted despite all the hints above!

Orson's post @12 should help with the theme - look specifically at the first word of the second definition given for the missing bit by Chambers.

I didn't get all the thematic stuff resolved, thought through, but I think my highlighting is correct. The highlighted word ends the same as the first name...

spoffy is right, the 'ow' is removed from PR(ow)ESS leaving an undefined thematic entry.
