Yoo-hoo, folks! Another impressive lot. (Welcome, dnairb, and thanks for your nice offering.) I’ll just mention a few favorite touches: ginge’s “impressed someone” @4; paul’s “specimen tested by grey market” @15; ixion’s “sort of language” @16; stevea’s snatchee @28 (from a card-carrying member of the Bad Boys’ Club); and therogue’s “drunk a Bud (cold), needed support” @32. I’m passing the torch to peterm for his clue @18:

Having unceremoniously been captured, so missing person is thus? (8)

I’m not overly fond of anagrams, but this one’s a doozy (though I might have preferred “this” to the adverbial “thus”- but heck, it still works).

Here’s the prize:

I so enjoyed reading all of these. Thanks ever so much for participating, all of you.

Congrats peterm and thanks aristo.

Could someone please highlight the anagram indicator and fodder for me? I'm baffled!

Many thanks, aristo. I recall you saying once that you didn't care for anagrams, so I'm pleasantly surprised to get the nod. I prefer to avoid anagrams, too, but I struggled to find an angle for this one. Nice clip as well.

Chris - it's a straightforward subtractive anagram of "been captured so" less "person", with "having unceremoniously" as the anagrind. I was trying to give it an &lit flavour.

I'll be back to post next week.

Extremely clever, peterm, but I wouldn't call it "straightforward"!

Very good clue, Peterm, once I saw the parse (glad you asked for it, Chrise).

Thanks, aristo - and for the mention and comment. Happy to be a member of said club!
