I think the preamble gave away where and how double entries were to be entered far too easily. Additionally most clues were not of the demanding standard of most Listener crosswords. At least the end game is very straightforward with no level of ambiguity whatsoever!!!
Floyd-esque. Pity the setter didn't get the album title in somewhere. There was also a missed opportunity in 44A to correctly use 'Bug' as a definition.
Pleased to complete one unaided by this forum for a change. Thought I'd gone wrong with 22a/d but just had a vowel at the wrong end. I had a lost woman and I should have had a distracted man....
One of the easier puzzles. This is my first full year of the Listener and I have completed them all - admittedly with help from this forum on occasions.
Looking forward to new an interesting challenges in 2018.
Happy New Year all.
Without wanting to give anything away to those who haven't started it yet, how strict do we have to be on the highlighting? I can't imagine many people ALL have the different pens that might be needed.
Sure they won't be overstrict - as long as they are delineated differently. Am I the only 'sad' case that kept my son's schoolboy tin (He is now 23) just for this purpose.....
