I see that the answer to 1D last week was SHELL. I still have no idea why!

I still can't figure out SHELL but a friend suggested it should be read SHE'LL for some reason :)

20d yap = pay back.

'YAP' is PAY back
Anagram of vegan and e (for eccentricity) gives a 6 letter word meaning pay back
I have VEER for 24a not sure where the ideas part fits in but VEER ties in with 10a
