The answer may be SCREEN but cannot parse.

Skreen means the same as Screen. Take 'b' and 'i' (BiTs regularly) out of Kerbstone . You're left with 'kersone'. The O is superfluous. Anagram the rest... Skreen.

I have MOS? But cannot see what I am missing.
Also I am missing the third letter of the abbreviation.

30 Cost - damage. It's Con's, prisoner's, and add T from the end of 'riot', ultimately. The N is spare. The preamble mentions clashes.
