Help with 11ac please. Cabooses maybe sprained radiale (7).
Have _ UPI _ AE

Cabooses probably has an extra O, and is then anagrammed, so could be abscesco, for example.

Yes, "caboses" is an anagranm of sea cobs, another name for seagulls.
Sea cobs belong to the family "laridae", anagram of "radiale".

Thanks so much, Rusty. Wondered if it was an anagram of radiale, but so convinced by 2d and 3d was blinkered.

Have realised my mistake on 3d now. But still confused by 2d.
Thought it was ruptuary.
But now have RA _ TUA _ _
Is it an anagram of resinata and the U (coming from 18 ac) is wrong?

2 D. There's no U in the answer, and it's just an anagram as you thought. 23 A has an unusual spelling.

Rusty, I butted in about 2 D as you didn't have the clue and there's thematic stuff involved anyway.

Malone, I didn't have a clue, right enough!
It is not a puzzle I have ever tackled!
