Albie, Very smart car ...The Hillman Super Minx was far superior to the Hillman Imp.
My Imp broke down so many times that the local AA mechanic used to say "Oh no! not you again!" ;)

I had an IMP: DVM 569C it was something a bit special. Bright red (sprayed it blue later!!) . The car had what was in effect a Coventry Climax engine detuned from racing with an over- head camshaft engine. When I'd finished working on it, it could do over 100mph but it wasn't a comfortable ride, it had to have sand bags in the front and the wheels de-cambered to keep it on the road. It was re-engineered with a kit provided by John Mangoletzi an I Italian involved with the Genetta racing style of the Imp. Sorry to rattle on, but it was a passion and funnily enough just today I have committed to buy a new car which my wife noticed was exactly the same colour as my first Imp.

Andy, I am impressed with what you achieved with your car. Mine was the 1963 model which, I found out too late, had a bad reputation for unreliability. I had heard of people putting cement bags in the front compartment to improve the handling .

I still don't fully understand all the workings of a car, but enough to get by . There is usually a reliable male friend nearby to help me out when necessary :)

I used to dabble a bit in those days (the early70's), it's far too complicated now Jazzy I just make sure I don't do too many miles and keep them under the service warranty :-)
