Is 'apples' an Aussie expression of satisfaction ? (Ref. 18a)
Other solutions indicate 'naso' is son of 21 (12 d) (anagram) but I don't 'get' it ! Have I erred elsewhere ?

Thank you Seamus. Missed you last week!

I had to go for a DVLA eye test last week, which took up most of the day. A new driving licence arrived this morning so I'm now good for another three years.

I also have BEARS for 23A. Double meaning - "Bears left (or right)" = aims at and "Bears fruit" = yields.

Thanks again for the link, Seamus. I think I'm missing a bit of local knowledge on this one,
5a Hampden's policies (4)
I have ?A??

Yes, there was an Australian expression "She'll be apples", meaning "It'll be OK" back in the '50's, I think. I haven't heard it for a long time.

Hi, Mattrom.

5A is PARK, Hampden Park being the national Scottish football venue, and "policies", also a Scottish term, meaning "the pleasure-grounds around a mansion." Guess you would need local knowledge for that!

On the other hand, Mattrom, I thought you might have used your own "local knowledge" to have got the "K" at the end :-)

Well done on winning. Seems like the "regulars" are now being rewarded. Congrats.
