I've finished although don't understand answers to 12a or 16d if someone could enlighten me please

12 OT = Old Testament (religious books) if that helps?
17d f(force) + foes for enemies.....

12a: rotates = goes round (def)
rates - classes
OT - religious books

16d: sweet spot = part of racket (def0
top - first
stews (reversed) - worries
e - electronic

I have not given answers as an earlier post suggested "spoilers" not welcome

He/ she already has the answers, but is asking for parsings.

I saw that peadar had answers, but in an earlier thread, someone had said spoilers were unwelcome so I resisted showing the answers. Sorry for any confusion.

Sometimes it is hard to know how to respond with help......someone is bound not to be pleased, one way or another!

I didn't know if there was some unwritten rule :-)

As far as I can gather, hints, not answers, are given for Prize crosswords.
But otherwise , just go with what the "requester" asks for?
or 'appears' to ask for - we can't always get it right!
