30D is the only one left - I can't see an answer even though I've sussed out how to deal with the other unclued lights. Any HINTS, please?

The original answer to 30 D is also the name of a well-known crossword setter. Hope that's of some use.

All clues done but don't quite follow his meaning of 1D and 7A undergoing '45 afterwards'... to what end? I'm being slow, could someone kindly give me a nudge?

I D and 7 A have to change almost completely, ie not just tweaked like the other unclued answers Their changes are thematic.

If you google your answers for 1d and 7a , it should tell you "what they were changed into"

37 down has me slightly puzzled. At the moment I have an old spelling for a very serious crime but I can't find it in Chambers. Could somebody please tell me if that is right or, if not, point me in the right direction.
