Need help on two clues.
25. Nuts acting as war entertainers (4)

30D. Unclued.

The character starts with O in 45a, and has no A.
But my grid entry gives me an A from 29a.

Thanks.

My 39a was wrong.
Still need 25a.

25 isn't a word as such, it's a set of initials.

Has anyone read this? The character list is impressive and the crimes/horrors/stories seem all-encompassing. Life may be too short but.......

Teenieleek, it's not very high on my list of 'things I must get round to reading', but maybe one day...

I read Classics at university so have read it. If you want Teenieleek I can recommend one of the better translations?

Yes please Daniel. Since I failed Latin at age 12 I suspect the original may be beyond me! I was infamous at school for reciting he, hi, ho instead of hic, haic, hoc. Although all these years later I remember huius (sp?) throughout, huic throughout etc. Interestingly this was a Scottish high school in the sixties and if one could do Latin there was then Greek too. Changed days. You've got my email address if that's easier and I'll try it (or at least leave it lying on the coffee table).
