Hi folks,

First, I'd like to offer a small apology to Steve as I hadn't seen his post at 38 when I posted 39 on the thread a half hour after him and used a similar device/wordplay. I started working on the clue in the wee small hours before your post, Steve, and didn't look in after I posted.

Rossim, sorry, you're gonna have to call it as I'm voting for

Thanks a lot Les!
There were so many superb clues. Paul @6 made me chuckle and I'm surprised Skyewalker @12 only got 1 vote. I really liked it.
BTW Shouldn't Rosalind's @ 17 read lose not loose?

It's a pity we didn't hear from Tango this week. I didn't mean to frighten him/her away. I'm sorry if I did but I felt things needed clarifying.

Now down to the nitty gritty!
Apologies to Rosalind, Paul and Aristo but my choice is BBM @40 with his superb

Move around eastern UK and try Norfolk, maybe. (6)

Your prize Marty is to follow.

Congrats, BBM2 - very close to my vote too, and thanks rossim.

Thanks for the vote, seamus! In retrospect, "prepare" would have been better than "get ready" - oh well...

Blimey mattrom - I must admit I didn't see that either ! Quite a penny drop moment.

Commiserations to Rosalind, Aristo and Paul.

Thanks to all you wonderful people for the votes and kind mentions, also to rossim for a great job "in the chair" and a smashing prize.

Hope you can all find time to pop in next week for the Christmas party,
If not all the best to you and yours.

Marty

Thanks for setting it Rossim, and congratulations to BBM2. Many thanks for the mentions Paul, Chrise and Stevea6000 and skyewalker for the mention and vote, (my first one! lol) and to FJ, haven't heard the name Kevin Turvey for years, brings back good memories from way back when.

Thanks Rossim. Great word choice and decision.
Mattrom. I could not quite reach the coward part either - maybe an argument for explaining a clue?? It was a good one.
Cheers Chris for the vote.
Congrats BBM2. I shall be at your party.
