Do you remember me mentioning "Arcadia" by Iain Pears? I'm still only just over half way through (it's a long book), but one of the several sub-plots seems to be quite closely based on the plot of "As you like it".

I remember you mentioning it, yes. Is it as good as "An Instance of the Fingerpost?" If so, I will attempt to borrow it.
I guess if the plot was good enough for Shakespeare...

PS There is some fascinating information about Shakespeare's will on the National Archive website. They have finally had a really good look at the materials, age of the pages etc.

I'll let you know when I've finished it. It's set in three different times/worlds(?), but the plots link together. It's quite complicated!

Sounds good to me, but I would need to read it in big chunks.
I've just joined a bookclub and the first one to be read is "Room". Wow, I am hooked

I've looked at some of the reviews on Amazon. Very divided. It doesn't sound like my sort of thing!

I meant to go and see the film. It sounds just my sort of book so I've ordered a copy! Thanks Rosalind.

I almost said "I don't think it would be your cup of tea", chris!
I should think it would make a better book than a film, rossim. But, then. the last film I saw was Philomena on the TV!

I didn't even bother to watch "Philomena" as I had heard how very different it was from the book!
I was initially puzzled by Judi Dench being in the title role of "Philomena2, as the character barely appeared in the book!!!
