Can anyone throw light on what to look for here with regard to the person and also help please with 20d: twisted into confused jumble in accidental deletion, (8) I thought there might be an anagram involved. I have EN??ILED but can't make sense of it. There may be a redundant letter in the clue

I haven't started this yet - but 20 looks like Entoiled (maybe an anagram of 'deletion'?).

I have done everything bar putting the last two letters in 13 A.
Namely, Anthony? Perhaps, in Scotland (6) ?cr?nt
I'm coming up with Scrunt - a niggard (and a Scottish word), but I don't understand how it fits with the clue. If it's a Biblical reference, my knowledge is nil.

PS. For those without the crossword, wordplay may lead to an additional letter not to be entered.

Hi malone. Look up Anthony in Chambers and you'll see a St Anthony-pig is the runt. With namely = sc beforehand as you got gives scrunt; Scottish also for anything stunted.

Thanks, ginge - although I checked Scrunt (and Scrint and Scrant...), I didn't think to look up Anthony. I've done that now.
