I reckon 34a should be Johansson and 21a should be Prize not Prime. Does anyone agree with me?

Kobnut, you are well away. Please get me going. For 1a I have elated, and realise 2d must have something left out of the entry. Can you point me in the right direction? I also need help with 7a and 7d. Are these both affected entries?

Xwordfan, there are words to be removed from wordplay and these are what Kobnut is referring to.

7A and 7 D are both affected answers, as is 2 D.

I assumed 'allied' was ' related' and jubilant 'elated' (without its face - r). Officer redundant. But 2d is a problem and clashes are still to be found - by me. I am always slow to cotton on.

jogamel - 2d may be lichen - anagram of chlorine minus O R , but don't know how it fits in the grid yet!?

Xwordfan - you're correct with 2D. The first line of the preamble is relevant to this one.

I'm deliberately not saying too much as I thought this was a great, fun puzzle - and the moment of enlightenment was a real 'aha' moment.
