Meursault, may I re-frame the question thus: can anyone confirm that the entry required is a single letter and that the 'gimmick' is nothing more than a pun on the fact that there is 'only one left'? If so, those three words would have made a much more satisfying and witty title.

Think you may have a mistake (second A) The definition means small change. The woman is a common pronoun (not she). The letter omitted is the first one. Hope this helps

I suspect you may have an error in 30d.

However, for 37a the definition is small change.

The entry therefore has one letter missing.

The wordplay leading to the entry is a fool containing a word meaning 'woman's'.

Hope this helps, but if you want more direct help just say so.

Have really enjoyed doing the word Listeners these past few weeks, and I seem to be getting the hang of it slowly. I also enjoy reading the many trenchant views expressed on here :-)

Could someone kindly push me towards the answer for 11A? It hasn't been mentioned so far, so perhaps it is ridiculously easy? I have _OR_ so far.

Thanks a lot

Schorley

The letters you have so far are correct.

The definition is an alcohol distiller from a flower of the same name. A letter will be removed from this before entry.

The word play leads directly to the entry, and you are looking for an adjective meaning 'ethically indifferent' with each end removed.

If you require a more direct answer, or any help please ask!

Sorry

That should read 'distilled' not 'distiller'
