Just wondered if anyone's doing this one. I'm finding it really tough. I've only solved a few clues, and was wondering if it's worth persevering. Is it easy to fit the answers together once you've got quite a few of them?

I've finished it. After a rather slow start, things fell into place fairly quickly after getting 1a and 1d. Another good place to start is with the 3-letter answer - there is only one of them and it's in the middle of the grid. As for the order of the clues - think, there cannot be many ways of ordering them. The song was unknown to me and required Googling.

Thanks, orson. That's encouraging.

I wasn't intending this one to be particularly difficult. Afraid there isn't all that much of an endgame. Hope you enjoy the challenge all the same.

I enjoyed completing the grid but assuming the 2 lines I have - 'so if ... find a' - after using the extra letters in conventional order of all the clues are correct the song in question eludes me despite Googling them. Any hints Jim ?

It's the lines of a song from a 1970s musical film featuring, among others, Jodie Foster.

Whoa!
A setter giving a very heavy hint - that really won't do.

Will it not? Well, never mind.

Your input should be limited to the rubric, until after the solution is published. Your ego has got the better of you. If you think otherwise I suggest you ask other, more experienced, setters and the ST's crossword editor.
