Rusty.....I had £2.50 on Emiliano Grillo at 40/1 to win last week-ends Fry's Open. At last a golf win for me....I've re-invested some on Patrick Reed In the Hong Kong Open...he is 2 under after the first round....be lucky.

Well done, Albie!
Reed did very well at the weekend, hope you profited.
I have had good results recently with Lydia Ko and Rickie Fowler.
Remember, the bookie always wins in the end!

Good to hear from you......I've just got in from backing Mr. mcIlroy in the Turkish Airlines.....9/2, and Sergio Garcia in the CIMB Classic.....16/1.... I like golf and horses, as you can see, but I know it's hard to beat the bookie.....be lucky.....Albie.

Hi Rusty......I still have a bit of hope for Rory, but I think Sergio may be too far adrift at halfway. I was checking out the Breeders Cup card when a particular memory came back to me. 1990, the Long Fellow was more or less finished after his year in prison, when his old pal Vincent O'Brien asked him to ride Royal Academy in the mile. He was 54, hadn't ridden seriously for 6 months, last out of the gate, semi-stumbled on the bend, and about 6 lengths adrift in the straight. You must watch the replay on you tube. I love the way the American commentator calls him " The Living Legend " Anyway, as they say in the U.S., have a nice day.

Albie, I remember Royal Academy very well.
And have Vincent O'Brien's biography here at home.
Those were the days!

Rusty.....those sure were the days. I can't really remember the 50's, but I know of his success in the N.H. game. I started to take an interest in the mid 60's. I can certainly remember Sir Ivor, Roberto, Nijinsky in the 70's. That's worth a nostalgic look on YouTube....The Minstrel's Derby win in 77 I think. Once again, he may not have won if it hadn't been for The Long Fellow. I used to go to Kempton Park, Epsom, Goodwood and Newmarket once or twice a year. Vincent was certainly the top man in that era. I always used to think that Aiden O'Brien was related, but he's not. He's this era's top man. Rory has rallied, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I think Sergio has too much to do at 10 adrift. Have a good week- end.....be lucky.

Some great memories there, Albie!
My two favourite horses were Sea Bird and Secretariat
They were the best I ever saw, and Arkle over the jumps.
I agree about Aidan O'Brien.
Heard him say recently they have never had anything before like Air Force Blue. He is 2000 Guineas fav now.
Rory is doing great. He should just about win!

No good with Sergio and Rory could'nt make it either. Secretariat I know, Triple Crown etc., also I watched the DVD, but I can just about remember Sea Bird, so I you tube'd the Epsom Derby win. It more or less won in a canter, T.P Glennon up. Talking of Triple Crown winner's, I see American Pharoah won at the Breeders Classic, according to my paper by 6 1/2 lengths in an exercise canter. Another great champion. I see Aiden O'Brien's Found just got up to pip Golden Horn. I see lots of similarities between Ryan Moore and Lester. I'm looking forward to see Air Force Blue next season. Another red hot one for O'Brien....be lucky.

American Pharaoh is the real deal, Albie!
Found is a smashing filly. She has had a good year.
It will be good to see just how good Air Force Blue is next year.
At Ballydoyle they are raving about him.
Could he be another Sea The Stars, or a Frankel?
Roll on the Guineas!
