I have filled the grid though I'm not sure about a couple, 27dn mostly. I have obviously missed some of the missing letters as the ones I have don't spell out anything sensible. Could anybody tell me how many letters I should have found to help me work this out? I don't want to know what the letters are, just how many, thanks.

11 I think.

You should have 11 letters. Most of them don't look very sensible at first sight, but they are in Chambers.

Is there a letter per row (omitting row 1) ?

I've got 2 letters in row 8, and can't make any sense of the rest.

There are certainly 2 letters in rows 2 and 3.
