Took ages to complete. To continue the 1d debate - in a slang dictionary of drugs opium is listed as "O". This would make sense to put 0 in for the drug instead of the E for energy. Had to look up Seychelles .

Hi all. Despite careful rereading of your helpful hints I I remain stuck on top left hand corner, ie 1A, 2 and 3D having already inserted your answer for 1D (thanks for that!!). May I add my voice to that of others for you jazzgirl not to abandon us just yet

Hi mondrian - how are you? How's the art?

There isn't a 1a (I don't think there ever is in the RT!). 6a the def. is the first two words. 2d is a cat. 3d I haven't parsed - am hoping that someone will be able to explain.

You ask how I am. Thanks for that. I am ok but the art is inactive!!! Art Village mentioned previously is still going strong. Were yiu away last week as I missed your contribution?

ChrisE: "3d I haven't parsed - am hoping that someone will be able to explain."

...answer him, because A-NOT-HER (groan)!

I'm about 3/4 done - would welcome hints for 20a & 9d

Cheers A-P

Groan indeed, Andy Pandy - thanks.

Difficult to give hints for your two. 9d is an anagram for a programme I hadn't heard of; 20a is a genus of plants - "without exception" backwards might be.....? (I.e. leaving none out)

20a split it up

Strong/One/without exception (backed)

Thanks ChrisE & Mamya. 9d was easy, I should have cracked that one earlier. 20a - I was hung up on "without exception" being the defn. Makes sense now.

Three to go, should manage OK now. Thanks to all hint-posters this week, and one more vote for Jazzy to stay.

Good afternoon all
I missed joining in with the chat on here this week, as I was unable to get to the shops to buy my RT. I went down with a virus last week and still not quite recovered . I did have my grocery order delivered and I could have added the RT to that, but the online price was showing as £2.10
Last week's was £2 in the shops, so I don't know if there has been an increase.? I had thought of giving it up as I only buy it for the crossword and rarely get around to reading all the articles. All the radio listings can now be read online for free. I am not a scrooge, honestly ! Maybe I will continue for a bit. All being well, I can get to drive to the shops any time now.
Mondrian, I am able to view the Art Village on facebook and there are some really talented folk exhibiting there.
