I know not of them, Elle.
I am home now.
Had a pleasant visit.
Youngest granddaughter has a bug, though!
I landed for an Amazon gift card.
So....!

Glad you had a nice time, Rusty! and an Amazon Gift card to spend.... will you add it to your account? More books? do you have a Wish List?
Sorry to hear about the young one - do you know what's wrong with her?
We've been to Lloyd Park this afternoon - South Croydon area. It's a very big place - no paths, so no bikes, skateboards or cycles! Just miles of fields......the dog loves it!
I'm watching the tail end of the Athletics on - guess what? - the red button! (thank you , Malone!)
I recorded the earlier TV coverage on BBC2 which was on whilst we were out - shall have to play catch up with that later.

Yes, Elle, already added to account.
No I don't have a Wish List, not sure how that works.
I do have several books in mind, though.
One on Henrietta Lacks, maybe one on Bobby Jones.
We shall see. The wee one has a bug. She'll be fine in a day or two.
I have not heard of Lloyd Park, Elle.
Who was Lloyd? Marie, by any chance?
We have black clouds overhead and bright sunshine!

Hi, Rusty!
A book about Henrietta Lacks should be very interesting!
It was from her cells that a cell strain was developed - researcher George Gey - the HeLa cell line - from which Jonas Salk developed a vaccine for polio. That's grossly over simplified, but you get the drift!
I'm sure you know a lot more about it than do I. It sounds a good choice of book!
But Bobby Jones? there you have me? Who was he?
When I said 'Wish List' I actually meant your own? I'd forgotten that one could create a Wish list within Amazon - no, I don't know how that works either.
Lloyd Park was apparently named after Frank Lloyd, a newspaper magnate who died in 1927 (I had to look that up!)
Very warm here, with blue skies and sunshine.

I only came across Henrietta Lacks a few months ago.
I know very little indeed about her.
But, I would like to know more. I only have the most basic education, Elle, but I do have an enquiring mind.
Bobby Jones was a great American golfer many years ago. It was him who had the idea for the Masters tournament at Augusta.
So, I will have to choose a few books from Amazon!
Like a wee boy let loose in a sweet shop!
I have not heard of Frank Lloyd.
Fine evening here, too.

Good evening Elle and Rusty,

hope all is well!

Re. Amazon wish list, you will find the option on the top right corner of the site which will say 'create a wish list'. In there you can move any article that takes your fancy, even you decide later on not to bother.

When you are ready to place an order, you can browse your wish list and transfer any of the articles from there into your basket, pending actually ordering.

It functions a bit like a wish list of your own at home, the advantage being that you do not have to search through what Amazon has to offer to find a particular item again - or forget all about it!

Is that clear at all or have I confused you?

It is as clear as a mountain stream, Pigale!
Thank you!
How are you and the world getting on today?

Well, if the world is as good as I am, then all is well!

Having a bit of a tough time with ST cryptic this week, although I do like DM normally - perhaps brain thinks it should not work on a Sunday.

Nice to know your weather is fine. might disappear in a while for my daily Skype chat, but will return later! So be warned!

Pigale, thank you for telling us how the Wish List with Amazon works! I knew I'd seen the option there but have never tried it. Sounds like a good idea. I like the fact that you are not tied to your choices but can ignore them later if so desired.
Do you know if they stay there indefinitely - should you log off and return another day, for instance, would they still be there for future reference?
Now that would be very useful indeed!

Rusty, you are quite right when you say you have an enquiring mind! I've never known anyone with such a penchant for information!
The things you come across are all so interesting- often something of which I've never heard before!
Fortunately I DID know about HeLa!
I love the concept of you as a small boy let loose in a sweet shop!
but I know just what you mean..... I was like that when let loose in Waterstones with my Christmas gift card, if you remember!
