Hello, Elle!
I don't have Goodbye to All That, too.
A long time since I read it.
No, I Claudius would not appeal to me.
I am off for a dander along the river.
I hear the dolphins are active!
Fine day here, and a good breeze blowing!

Hi, Rusty!
Did you enjoy your walk?
Were there any dolphins about? Are they often seen in action in the Tay?
Still fine here... there was a slight drizzle in the air when I was out in the garden playing ball with the dog, but nothing further has developed.
Still rained off at Wimbledon - tho Sue has just announced that tennis might commence again at 3.30.......so fingers crossed for that!
I'm happy with Centre Court, and Novak.
He has just taken the first set.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I drove to the other side of the city, parked, and walked along the shore. Yes, several dolphins and seals in the river.
A common occurence.
They are after the salmon coming in to the river from the sea.
Type "Tay dolphins" into your search engine and you can see them.
Been cloudy all day here, but dry.
Just finished my Loch Lomond prog.
Saw the beavers, hen harriers, etc and the ospreys making their first flight!
Next part is on Friday evening. It is Channel 5 it is on.
I was wrong saying STV, although they have a wildlife series running as well.
Just one tennis game on my TV.
How does that affect the folk with tickets for the outer courts.
Do they lose money, as well as missing the tennis?

Good evening, Rusty!
I'm sorry for the delay in replying..........we have had visitors.
Yes, I saw some dolphins in the Tay, on Youtube! I hadn't realised that they were so frequent a sight for you.
We could see them quite often when we used to stay in Swanage.
A great match between Roger and Marcus Willis.
The results did not really reflect the quality of play. Marcus played some fantastic shots, but Roger prevailed in the end.
A disappointing day though for many tennis fans, who had to go home without seeing much tennis.
You always used to lose all your money if it rained...it was just luck as to what sort of day you got......but since 2001, there has been a "Raincheck Policy"
If there is less than one hour's play because of rain on the court for which tickets have been bought, you get a full refund.
If there is more than one hour's play, but less than two hours' play, refunds will be half the amount paid.
Other than that, yes, you lose your money!
Thank goodness for a roof over Centre Court!
There is a Ladies' Singles match on there at the moment.

Hello, Elle!
That seems a fair enough policy at Wimbledon?
Our Tay dolphins are related to the Moray Firth dolphins, we are told.
They are here all year round.
Plenty salmon coming in from sea.
We get runs of sea trout, too.
I think Miss Safarova (and nightie) are playing today!

Hi, Rusty!
I've just been listening to the interviews of Roger and Marcus on the Highlights programme.
Both said nice things about the other...it was good to hear.
Roger was very complementary about Marcus' playing, and said that he thought the atmosphere on the Centre Court was wonderful for both of them.
The Ladies' and Men's Doubles were supposed to start today - I don't know if they did? Rain must have stopped that, too?
I didn't see Lucie Sarafova's name on today's Order of Play - but maybe I missed it?

Hello, Elle!
There have been complaints about the Nike dress that Safarova and several others wore. Far too short and flying above the waist.
The players do not feel comfortable.
I think her tie is postponed until tomorrow.
Be good to see young Marcus progress as he gets older.
I have had a wee look at another of my books.
Most of the folk interviewed were over 100.
One, I think, was 107.
All gone now. It is great seeing the pics of when they were young and the way they were when interviewed.
One lady, Daisy Collingwood, was 101 (and looked a lot younger) smiling away at the camera, and there was a photo of her as a young woman in 1917,
Daisy was a munitions worker.
Some great stories!

Hi, Rusty!
I have yet to see this "dress" of Lucie's!
How does the promotion work?
Are the tennis players paid to wear the designer's clothes?
Or do they just get free clothing etc. for providing the advertising?
I'm presuming that there must be some commitment to the company, if the girls are still wearing the dresses even though they do not like them?
Your new books sound great!
I am enjoying being entertained by hearing excerpts as you go along.
It is wonderful to hear of "old" people who still have all their mental faculties fully functioning.
It is so sad to hear of forms of senile dementia - distressing for both patients and families then.
Finally, it is raining here!
But we have done very well compared with South West London - remind me never to move to live in Wimbledon (it's always raining)

Hello, Elle!
The vast majority of these players will have deals with shoe companies, racquet makers, etc
Nike will be paying Lucie money to wear their outfits.
I noticed Andy Murray wearing an Under Armour shirt yesterday. I had not noticed that before.
Maybe he has switched to them.
I thought Under Armour were just into golf.
I know Jordan Spieth is kitted out by them.
I know that Lexi Thompson, the golfer, gets sent kit at the start of each tournament, with brand new kit for each of the four days. Shirts, skirts, shorts, matching shoes etc.
Tiger Woods, the golfer, got into a row with his shoe maker because he would not wear the latest shoes they sent him.
Tiger preferred last season's shoes! More comfy!
But, the company had shoes to sell the public and Tiger should be wearing them.
Going to have a wee read now, so may have another snippet or two to tell you tomorrow!

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day here ...although I believe that Wimbledon is forecast rain for later.
Andy Murray and Jo Konta play second and third on Centre Court today.
Unfortunately, I shan't get to see much tennis in the earlier part of today.
I am going visiting in a little while this morning, and then it is "Ladies Who Lunch"!
No idea as to venue as yet!
I should be back about teatime - if the rain holds off at Wimbledon, I might see some tennis action then.
How are you progressing with your book?
Did you stay up late last night, reading?
